Championing LGBTQ+ issues in education for more than 30 years, GLSEN works to ensure that all students are able to learn and grow in a school environment free from bullying and harassment.

GLSEN provides resources to over 20,000 educators nationwide

Inclusive Curriculum & Resources
GLSEN advocates for research-backed inclusive LGBTQ+ representation in the classroom, with 800,000+ GLSEN resources downloaded by educators and students each year

Comprehensive Policies
GLSEN works at the local, state and national level to protect LGBTQ+ youth in the K-12 school system

Student-led Clubs
GLSEN supports more than 12,000 GSAs across the country to create spaces for LGBTQ+ youth to be themselves.

More than 650 anti-LGBTQ+ bills have been introduced in 2023

32% of LGBTQ+ students missed at least 1 day of school in the prior month because they felt unsafe

2 in 5 LGBTQ+ students of color experience victimization at school because of their race/ethnicity and their LGBTQ+ identities

6 in 10 transgender students were prevented from using school facilities that align with their gender identity

A national network of over 2 million strong, with students, families, educators, and education advocates working to create safe schools. 

GLSEN has resourced 6,000 schools and 20,000 educators across all 50 states. Our Rainbow Library has provided more than 58,000 LGBTQ+ affirming books, reaching over 6.1 million students.
